Adriano and The Start of the Summer Show (27th and 28th June)

Hello again,

I am going to write the whole weekend together in this one post as I'm tight for time and also because Saturday was a very chilled day by the pool and there is little to say.

On the Saturday we all got up, had breakfast and put on our swim stuff. At Andratx, in the yacht club there was a pool which we thought was rather inviting on such a hot day. We got there early and found we had the pool to ourselves for the first 45 minutes which was a good opportunity for taking a selection of ridiculous underwater photos and yet more water-selfies. We definitely made use of having the whole pool for just the four of us! We sound like the 'classic youth' taking selfies all the time, but they're great- they're usually hideous angles but they do capture great moments. :) As I've said before, I won't be uploading the awful selfies! Although that does mean that leaves this section of the blog post a little 'empty' as I don't have many photos to add...

Later that evening we all snuggled up in Lizzie and Alice's cabin and watched Sharknado. I don't really know how to describe Sharknado.. It's the crappiest CGI I've ever seen in a film and therefore that makes it absolutely hilarious. It's insane. Go and watch it, you need to see it! You may be surprised to hear we actually finished Sharknado on the night we started it- that may be something to do with the fact its only 86 minutes, but probably because it was so hilarious it's very difficult to stop watching it, you just want to see the next awful CGI shark flying around in a tornado!

On the Sunday we also spent the morning in the pool although I spent most of the 'pool time' sunbathing and reading. Besides that we did enjoy some ice creams and I had a fancy Twister, it was pink and orange and bigger than the 'normal' ones, it was very nice. I haven't seen them over here but will definitely buy one if I do. (Ice cream seems to feature in a lot of my blog doesn't it?!)

After a few hours in the pool and going back for lunch, it was time to get the boat 'ship shape' once again and head off to Adriano. Regrettably I can't remember much about the journey as I've been so lazy and taken so much time to write this... bad me. But I do know that it was a relatively short trip and Alice drove for most of it, in fact almost all the way from Andratx to Adriano! She was very good, but we weren't really allowed to talk to her as she was 'concentrating'- We didn't drown, so good job!

We arrived at Adriano and oh my life, some of the yachts super-mega-huge-amazing-yachts were just incredible, but of course, my loyalty lies with Postremo ;) . We were "parked" sideways for a change and we were about twenty steps from the pool. We decided not to go though as you had to pay to go in each time and it looked quite small, we were spoilt from the pool at Andratx that we had to ourselves each morning. We did however benefit from the loud music playing at the pool. We went to dinner later on and I tried some gnocchi for the first time. It was with leak and it was delish. We also had amazing orange juice that must have been squeezed to order it was that fresh. That was a really nice evening. Afterwards we walked around for a little bit and came to a small shop Sarah described as a 'Spanish Waitrose', I treated myself to a nice big bag of Maltesars and managed to find a pretty postcard with a dolphin jumping out of the water in front of an orangey sunset; I figured it would be a better 'Thank You' card than the 'Happy Birthday!' card I stupidly bought.. Alice bought some Pringles which led to a big discussion about the Pringles flavours. We have such riveting conversations!

On the way back from dinner we witnessed a pirate riding a big bike type thing playing the Game Of Thrones theme tune- it was random. Although made slightly less peculiar by the fact that earlier on we had been followed down the "road" by a woman playing a piano on wheels that was being pulled by a lady on a bike, which was then being followed by a man telling us to come to a free summer show that was starting that night at 11pm or something. We had no idea what to expect.

Before 11pm, pretty much all the way through the evening leading up to 11 there were other small floats and random things driving up and performing just in front of the pool, as I mentioned earlier we were very, very close to the pool so every time we heard something coming or Sarah and Chris did, they would call us and we'd hurry over and watch the act. Meg and I are Sex And The City fans and there was an act of four or five girls and they turned up as the SATC theme tune was playing- that brought us a small amount of joy- its been tough since we finished watching the show...

At 11pm we all went across to the steps in front of the pool and waited for the show to start. I wish I could describe it and show you how random but hilarious it was! For a free show it was pretty impressive. There were three guys who I would say were 'Human Minions', they all did the same action and spoke with funny voices, they even ended up doing synchronised swimming in full suits at one point. The others also told me there was an incredible contortionist who could do very freaky things with her body- I missed that though as I was on the phone at the time.

After the show had finished we went back to the boat and back to Lizzie and Alice's cabin to wait up until midnight so we could be the first to wish Lizzie a sweet sixteen. As the night turned to the morning of the 29th we wished Lizzie a 'Happy Birthday!' and as lame as it sounds, very promptly headed to bed- we were all rather tired after laughing so much at the show. Plus- we needed to be wide awake for the morning as Lizzie's parents had booked for us to go Paddle Boarding- something I had wanted to try for ages.

Those stories are for another day and another post. I'm sorry this one has been rather wordy and short of pictures, but I've realised, as I'm new to this (and it was a holiday with friends so we took lots of pics of us!) I haven't got many photos I would class as 'blog photos'. I'm learning, so hopefully I can start taking more photos I can put on here.

I'm certain I'll be back tomorrow as it's my last day to blog about Spain, it's the deadline I've set myself. I have two more days to write about so it should all be fine provided I'm not too lazy tomorrow.. I think I've almost finished packing for Florida so that's good at least! I'm so excited and can't wait to see my friends at the airport.

Anyway, I'm waffling now... 'Til next time,

xx
