10th August:
We had a quiet day yesterday, we just mooched around at home, in the morning I started my Psychology homework. I have to write an essay on Freud. I read some more '1984' and watched some more Gavin and Stacey.
We went to Marshalls and Walmart to pick up some stuff for dinner, we had a roast chicken with some veg and tater tots, followed by a nice selection of doughnuts.
Dad made guacamole to have with chips (crisps). I love guacamole, especially the one Dad and Debbie make. I'm sure the recipe is much like any other guacamole, but it's so fresh, you can't beat it.
You just throw everything in the blender, whiz it up and stick some chips in it.
The ingredients are:
- 4 ripe avocados
- 1 Roma tomato
- 0.5 cup/10g cilantro leaves
- 0.5 cup/60g chopped onion (preferably red)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
Dad throws in some chilli flakes for an added 'kick'.

After guacamole and dinner we had a Harry Potter marathon, we started with the Goblet of Fire (Liv's favourite as it's the 'Ball One') and then watched the Order of the Phoenix and then the Half Blood Prince. I hadn't seen the fifth and sixth ones in ages so it was good to see them again. I love the whole Harry Potter universe, it's very rare I want to watch films again or read books I've already read, but I could watch and read those over and over again.
By the time we'd finished the Half Blood Prince it was about 12:30am so definitely time for bed!
11th August:
This morning Debbie took Liv and I for pedicures. We usually go once in the summer. I always have horrible feet and feel slightly embarrassed about them seeing them in their manky state, but they weren't bad enough to warrant the cheese grater so that was a relief! They really do have a tool that looks like a cheese grater for dead foot skin- it's sort of gross. The ladies in there are lovely and one of them remembers Liv and I from the last years we've been. She was saying how tall Liv has grown (sadly I fear she'll soon be taller than me...). Last year she said to Liv, 'I like your teeth' which was funny as it seemed to come out of nowhere and also sounded particularity funny in her accent. She didn't comment on her missing teeth this time which I was hoping she'd do.
As always I went for a blue colour.

I've just finished watching the first series of Gavin and Stacey with Liv, I think she liked it, she certainly picked up the accent quick enough!
We're just about to take the dogs up to Mark and Marie's so I better finish up here. We're having dinner with them once we've dropped the dogs off. They're looking after them for us.

Hello,
I'm just back from Meritt Island, we went to a pizza place and sat outside on the top deck. We ordered one pizza to share between the six of us. And that's not because we weren't hungry, that's because it was 24 inches. It was massive, but not as massive as the 30 inch one on the menu!! We ordered the pizza that had everything on it, which unfortunately didn't suit me as it had a lot of pepperoni, ham and bacon on it, but I had a slice (which was like 3 slices) of a veggie one which was nice. I just had to pick off the olives. I can't think of many vegetables I don't like, but olives are a definite 'no thank you'.
I'm just setting everything up to charge and checking what I've forgotten to pack and then I'm going to settle into bed and do some more reading- how boring do I sound?! I'm really loving '1984' though, Mum always said I would, she's usually right about these things (eventually anyway!). I've just got to a very interesting part that has just changed the whole mood of the book. I'm quite looking forward to the flight tomorrow where I have nothing to do except read and maybe watch something on my Tablet. Before this summer I hadn't read a book in ages and now I have to read for homework, so it's a double bonus, I have time to read again and am doing my homework at the same time!
And with that, it's L out.
The next post will most likely be from Puerto Rico, hopefully with lots of interesting pictures too.
Night night,
L
