On the 7th August we went bowling when Dad got home from work. During the day Liv and I caught up with Holby and I started reading George Orwell's '1984'. I started it once before but I didn't understand it then, I think that's because I kept coming back to it after reading small chunks and it didn't make sense to me. I'm getting it this time and I think it's a great book, it's very clever and thought-provoking and slightly scary in some ways...
The bowling is just down the road. It's affectionately named 'New Skanky-Bowl'. 'New' because it was re-done, 'skanky' because that's just what all bowling places are like. The thought of the shoes alone are enough to warrant the title 'Skanky-Bowl'. All bowling shoes are skanky.
Debbie was working so it was just Liv, Dad and me. The bowling was really good fun, even though I suck, I'm really, really bad at bowling. I didn't come last though, that title goes to Liv- congratulations little sis! (I'm just really impressed with myself that I didn't come last). We ordered lots of greasy stuff for dinner whilst we played. We had curly fries, onion rings, a cheese flat bread and Dad had some jalapeño poppers. I tried a popper, it wasn't as hot as I expected but I didn't like the melted cheese in it. It tasted like the cheese in a can you can get over here, don't do it to yourself, don't try cheese in a can. I did that once, never again.

8th August:
We went to the cinema at Waterford Lakes.. We took the Mustang out, it's the coolest car I've ever seen or been in. The paint is called 'Mystic Chrome' which means depending on the angle and the sunlight, the colour can look blue, purple or green. It's very cool. Even the leather inside has the same colour-changing appearance.
Before the film we went to T.J. Maxx, Debbie found a new suitcase for Puerto Rico and we found someone at home something (I can't say what it is or who it's for as I know they read these!). We also went to Target to buy some sweets.
We went to see the Minion Movie. It took a while to get going but I really enjoyed it by the end and little Gru was cute. Dad bought Liv and I a Sprite to share, he ordered a 'Medium', which once again would have been an Extra Large back home in little ol' England. It was like a bucket of Sprite, it was crazy.
After the movie we went to 'Crispers' for some late lunch, early tea. I had the same as I have every time we go there, 'Caribbean Flatbread'. It has BBQ sauce, onions, tomatoes, chicken, etc. It's just generally really good.

9th August:
In the morning I went out to have a go at something very scary... I'm not sure if I can say what it was so that's all I'll say for now. Some of you already know anyway. It was terrifying at first but more fun when I got going.
Liv, Dad and I went to Sam's Club to pick up some more lunch and holiday things. We then sat down and Liv had a "slice" of pizza, I say slice because it was cut into two and one of those could easily have passed as a single, decent sized slice, I wish I'd taken a picture. I've been coming to the U.S for years now, but I'm still mesmerized by the portion sizes here. Dad had a 'Four Berry Sundae', it's frozen yoghurt. I had a vanilla one.
We then went to Best Buy as Dad wanted to buy a new Asus tablet. Annoyingly it was out of stock...
We went to Publix on the way home to pick up the things you don't really need in bulk from Sam's- like Milk. For three days we don't really need a gallon of milk.
After putting the shopping away and feeding the dogs we headed over to the Millenia Mall where Debbie works. Liv and I wanted to buy some new jeans from Lucky Brand. I bought a pair of the 'Olivia' ones. I adore Lucky jeans, they're so soft, I've been ruined with those jeans, all others feel rubbish compared to them! Luckily I now have four pairs to keep me going.
After trying and buying jeans, Dad, Liv and I went to Starbucks to get a drink while we waited for Debbie's shift to end. I had a strawberry smoothie.
Once Debbie had finished work we went to Brio Tuscan Grille. It was great because I had been craving spaghetti bolognese for a few days, no surprise as to what I ordered. It was yummy.
In bed I read some more '1984' and then watched an episode of Gavin and Stacey.
The Big Wide World has taught me: As stupid as you may look and feel, sometimes you just need to cry about stuff. Even if you don't really know why or you know it can't help change anything, sometimes you just have to do it. As I know many of my friends will tell you, I'm an emotional person.
Once again (this is becoming a familiar occurrence), sorry I haven't updated in a few days, I've been tired and busy in the evenings.
Until next time,
L
